President Donald Trump told Bill Maher “Don’t call anymore” in a 1,323-word Truth Social post on Sunday, Oct. 25, attacking the HBO host two days after Maher discussed their latest White House dinner on his show.
“Bill: Don’t call anymore,” Trump wrote at the end of the post. “It’s useless.”
The post was the longest Trump has ever written on social media, according to the Factbase database, which has tracked his posts since 2011, LateNighter reported.
Bill Maher’s account of the White House dinner
Maher dined at the White House on Oct. 15 with musician Kid Rock and sports commentator Stephen A. Smith. It was his second dinner with Trump, after a first meeting in 2025.
On Friday’s episode of “Real Time,” Maher defended meeting the president while still criticizing his policies. “Trump never lost his temper. He never yelled. He never interrupted,” Maher said. “Me, I did.”
Maher said the dinner lasted four hours.
Trump disputes the four hours
Trump rejected that account. “It didn’t last four hours, it lasted two hours, maybe less,” he wrote. “We have the timestamps.” He also called the evening “a waste of time” and said, “I learned nothing.”
Smith gave a different figure. He told CNN after the dinner that the group spent four hours and 20 minutes with Trump, including dinner, conversation and a tour of the White House, according to LateNighter.
In the same post, Trump called Maher a “coward” and “gutless” and said he would no longer watch “Real Time.”
