Russia has announced a major breakthrough in the development of its sixth-generation fighter jet, describing the project as a key step in the country’s defense modernization program.
According to Moscow officials, the aircraft will feature advanced stealth technology, enhanced combat capabilities, and a next-generation avionics designed to surpass existing fifth-generation fighters. The project is being led by the Russian state-owned defense industry, which has accelerated research and development despite international sanctions and economic pressure.
Defense analysts say the fighter jet is intended to bolster Russia’s long-range air superiority and demonstrate its ability to compete with similar programs in the United States and China. There is no confirmed date for the plane’s first flight.
