President Donald Trump has outlined and clarified the objectives behind the U.S. and Israeli military campaign against Iran as the conflict continues to escalate.

Trump said the United States is seeking Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” signaling that Washington will not accept negotiations unless Tehran fully capitulates.

In remarks at the White House, Trump also detailed several strategic goals for the military campaign. According to his statements and subsequent White House clarification, the operation aims to:

Destroy Iran’s missile capabilities

Neutralize Iran’s naval forces

Prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons

Stop Iran from supporting militant groups in the region

Trump said the strikes represent what he described as “our last, best chance” to deal with what he called Iran’s “sinister regime.”

He has also suggested that Iran may eventually need new leadership, indicating he would like to see leaders in Tehran who could cooperate with the United States and stabilize the region.

The comments come amid an expanding conflict that has already involved U.S. and Israeli airstrikes across Iran and retaliatory attacks on U.S. bases and Israeli territory.

Officials say the military campaign could continue for weeks as both sides intensify operations across the Middle East.
