At least nine hospitals in Iran are no longer operational following strikes during the ongoing conflict involving U.S. and Israeli forces, according to a member of Iran’s parliamentary health committee.

Iranian lawmaker Mohammad Jamalian said the medical facilities have stopped functioning due to damage and security risks caused by attacks across the country. The development comes as fighting continues to affect infrastructure in several Iranian cities.

Health facilities have increasingly been caught in the wider conflict, raising concerns among international health organizations about the safety of patients and medical staff. The World Health Organization previously reported multiple attacks on healthcare sites in Iran since the start of the latest military campaign.

Officials warn the loss of hospital capacity could worsen the humanitarian situation as the war continues, with medical services under growing pressure while casualties rise and infrastructure is damaged.
