At least nine people were shot and taken to hospitals early Sunday morning after gunfire erupted at Riverfront Live, a crowded music venue and nightclub in Cincinnati’s East End, police said.

The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. local time during a live event attended by about 500 to 600 people, Cincinnati Interim Police Chief Adam Hennie said.

All nine victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

No arrests have been made and authorities have released few details about suspects or motives, saying the investigation is ongoing. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting Cincinnati police.

The venue has been a popular spot for concerts and celebrations, and witnesses described chaotic scenes as shots were fired and attendees tried to flee the building.

City officials have not yet provided additional updates, and police are continuing to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage as part of their probe.

More information is expected as investigators work to identify suspects and determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
