Netanyahu compares Hamas attack on Qatar to US raid on Bin Laden

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel’s latest operation in Qatar targeting the Hamas leader was similar to the US raid that killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.
“Just as the United States targeted Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, we have targeted the Hamas leader in Qatar,” Netanyahu announced on Tuesday. He said the strike was necessary to protect Israel’s security and to show that Hamas leaders will not be safe anywhere.
The statement was quickly met with international condemnation, with the attack in Doha marking a rare escalation by Israel of operations beyond Gaza and the wider Palestinian territories. Qatar condemned the attack as a violation of its sovereignty.
