Israel’s military launched a new wave of airstrikes targeting areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, expanding its campaign against positions linked to the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, according to Aljazeera news
Israeli officials said the strikes targeted sites believed to be used for weapons storage, launch positions and military infrastructure.
Explosions were reported in multiple areas as Israeli aircraft carried out the operations overnight.
Lebanese authorities said several locations were hit, though the full extent of damage and casualties was not immediately clear.
Emergency crews were deployed to affected areas as residents reported heavy air activity and blasts.
The strikes come amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran-aligned forces across the region, with exchanges of fire continuing along the Israel-Lebanon border as the wider Middle East conflict intensifies.
