Israel and Iran launched fresh attacks as the conflict between the two countries entered its sixth day, while the first UK-organized flight meant to bring British citizens home from the region was delayed.
Israeli forces carried out another wave of airstrikes targeting sites in Tehran and other areas linked to Iran’s security and military infrastructure.
Loud explosions were reported in the Iranian capital as Israel continued its campaign against Iranian military facilities and allied groups.
Iran responded with missile and drone attacks across the region, including strikes aimed at Israeli territory and other targets connected to the conflict.
The escalating exchanges have widened the war’s impact beyond the two countries, raising fears of a broader regional confrontation.
Amid the fighting, the UK government’s first charter flight intended to evacuate British nationals from the Middle East was delayed due to technical and operational issues.
The flight, scheduled to depart from Muscat, Oman, was postponed while officials worked to resolve the problem and reschedule departures.
The delay comes as governments worldwide scramble to evacuate citizens from the region after widespread airspace closures and disrupted commercial flights following the outbreak of the conflict.
