Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is reported to be “wounded, isolated and not responding to messages,” according to a report citing U.S. and Israeli security officials.
The report, attributed to The Washington Post, said intelligence sources believe Khamenei has been cut off from regular communication, raising uncertainty about his ability to lead during the ongoing conflict.
Officials said the lack of response to messages has added to growing concerns over Iran’s leadership structure, with indications that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and senior clerics may be consolidating control.
Khamenei has not been seen publicly since taking power following the death of his father, and only written statements have been released in his name, further fueling speculation about his condition.
However, details about his health remain unconfirmed, and Iranian officials have previously said he was only lightly injured, highlighting conflicting accounts surrounding his status.
The situation remains unclear, with intelligence agencies continuing to monitor developments closely as questions persist over who is effectively directing Iran’s leadership.
