Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen said they launched a missile toward Israel early Saturday, as the conflict in the Middle East continues to expand.
Israeli authorities said the projectile was intercepted without causing casualties, according to reports.
The strike came a day after the group warned it would join the conflict if certain conditions were met, including expanded U.S. or Israeli military activity in the region.
The Houthis have signaled support for Iran as tensions with the United States and Israel intensify.
The escalation follows weeks of fighting that began after joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran in mid-February. Efforts to negotiate a ceasefire have stalled, with both sides exchanging proposals but failing to reach agreement, according to officials familiar with the talks.
Iran has also carried out retaliatory strikes across the region, including an attack on a U.S. base in Saudi Arabia that injured multiple service members.
Ongoing exchanges have raised concerns about a broader regional conflict involving multiple armed groups.
The situation has also disrupted global energy markets, with instability affecting key shipping routes and pushing oil prices higher.
Officials and analysts said developments in the coming days will be closely monitored as diplomatic and military actions continue.
