Hundreds of demonstrators gathered near Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement during the Super Bowl, marching around the venue while the game was underway.

Organizers said about 300 people took part, carrying signs calling for ICE to leave communities and criticizing President Trump’s immigration policies.

Rep. Ro Khanna joined the march and said he chose to stand with local activists rather than attend the game. In a post on social media, Khanna said he was with constituents demanding no new funding for ICE.

Local media reported the demonstration remained peaceful, with no counter-protesters present and no arrests announced by authorities. Law enforcement maintained a presence to manage traffic and crowd movement around the stadium perimeter.

The protest followed speculation that ICE officers would be present at the game after comments by administration officials suggested federal agents would be deployed.

The Department of Homeland Security had said ICE would be active around the Super Bowl, but the NFL later said there were no ICE operations planned for the event. No ICE activity was reported near the stadium during the game.

Advocacy groups said the protest aimed to spotlight concerns about enforcement tactics and push lawmakers to oppose expanded funding for immigration operations.
