A Wisconsin man has been convicted of threatening federal immigration officers after repeatedly calling for violence against agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Border Patrol, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
Andrew Stanton, 38, of Kenosha, pleaded guilty on March 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin to influencing, impeding or retaliating against a federal official.
Prosecutors said Stanton posted threats on social media and sent hostile messages to a Border Patrol agent assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
According to court records and an FBI affidavit, Stanton used TikTok to encourage violence against politicians and federal agents and later sent threatening text messages to a federal officer after investigators attempted to contact him.

The Justice Department said Stanton faces up to 10 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.
His sentencing has been scheduled for June 18, according to court filings.
