Hezbollah fighters and Israeli troops clashed directly on the ground in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, according to a report by Al Jazeera.
The fighting reportedly occurred near the town of Nabi Chit, where Israeli forces moved into the area and exchanged gunfire with Hezbollah fighters.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said at least 16 people were killed and dozens wounded following Israeli strikes in the same region as the clashes intensified.
The Bekaa Valley has been heavily targeted during the latest escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
The confrontation marks a rare direct ground engagement between the two sides inside eastern Lebanon, amid a wider regional conflict linked to the escalating war involving Israel, Iran, and allied groups across the Middle East.
