The United States has carried out strikes on nearly 200 targets inside Iran over the past 72 hours, according to U.S. defense officials, as the military campaign against Iran continues to intensify.
Officials said the targets included missile launch sites, air defense systems, command centers and military infrastructure linked to Iran’s armed forces.
The strikes are part of a broader joint operation with Israel aimed at degrading Iran’s military capabilities and limiting its ability to launch further attacks.
The Pentagon said the operations involved a combination of airstrikes, drones and precision-guided weapons, targeting facilities believed to support Iran’s missile and military command networks.
U.S. officials said the strikes were intended to reduce threats to American forces and allied installations across the Middle East following recent Iranian missile and drone attacks in the region.
The expanded campaign comes amid escalating tensions across the Middle East, with Iran continuing to launch retaliatory strikes and regional governments increasing security measures as fears grow of a wider conflict.
