The U.S. Department of Defense has identified the fifth American service member killed after an Iranian drone strike hit a tactical operations center in Kuwait over the weekend.

Maj. Jeffrey R. O’Brien, 45, of Indianola, Iowa, died Sunday at Shuaiba Port during what the Pentagon described as an unmanned aircraft system attack. O’Brien served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Six service members in total were killed when the drone struck a makeshift operations office shortly after the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran. The attack is currently under investigation.

The Pentagon previously identified four of the victims as Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Florida; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; and Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Officials also released the name of another individual believed to have died in the attack: Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, California.

The Pentagon said final identification will be confirmed by the medical examiner.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the six soldiers will receive a dignified transfer, adding: “President Trump intends to attend the dignified transfer of these American heroes to stand in grief alongside their families.”
