Putin Calls Turkey a Reliable and Proven Partner

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that Russia considers Turkey a “reliable and proven partner” in both bilateral relations and international affairs.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in China, where the two leaders held talks with their delegations.

Putin’s comments came as Erdoğan emphasized Turkey’s efforts to promote a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine, recalling the role of earlier negotiations hosted in Istanbul.
